The Brief

The client was in a position where they needed to quickly and efficiently scale their manufacturing capabilities to meet the fast-growing consumer demand for their product. Seeking a strategic, future-proofed solution that would enable this evolution in their operations, Databerry Systems was engaged to assess the situation and develop numerous, on-going software solutions to support the full process of manufacturing, testing, and customer usage of their products.

The Deliverable

• Factory based software systems:

  • Automated assembly incorporating customised robot control.

  • Automated configuration, calibration, and testing. This includes control of test equipment, execution of customisable test scripts, and production of test reports.

  • Management of extended-time testing of hundreds of devices simultaneously. This is facilitated by a custom Android-based hand-held application used by technicians while on the factory floor.

  • An integrated production management system enabling tracking the build progress of individual product units. This uses customised software tools for each stage of the production process, all based on a central SQL database.

• End-user software providing for remote connection to the products and providing for control, configuration, monitoring, data logging, and firmware updating.

 

The Outcome

These various software modules and suites were successfully implemented and continue to provide critical, scalable manufacturing capability to the factory, as well as essential tooling to the product’s end users.
